The Emaan Foundation has benefited from a substantial donation - thanks to Ford MotorCompany and a philanthropic local businessman winning a global award.

Nas Khan, Managing Director ofNorth East-based Jennings Motor Group, was one of six honourees worldwide, andthe only representative in the UK, to receive Ford Motor Company’s prestigious‘2015 Salute to Dealers’ annual award.

As part of the award, which isin recognition of exhibiting unparalleled giving, dedication and leadership inthe community, Ford Motor Company provides a total of $60,000 - $10,000 foreach honouree – which is given to a charity the dealer supports. 

The award has been presentedto Mr Khan in recognition of his efforts and contributions to the localcommunity, in addition to the on-going time he devotes to raising funds for TheEmaan Foundation.  The foundation is aregistered charity set up by the kindhearted MD, which has funded theconstruction of a new village in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan, following thedevastating floods in 2010. 

A new appeal has recently beenlaunched to help fund a health centre in the village.

Nas was presented with acheque for the sum of $10,000, the equivalent of £6,754 for his charity, TheEmaan Foundation, by Bernard Silverstone, Chairman and CEO of Ford Motor CreditCompany, who visited the Jennings Ford dealership in Middlesbrough, Teesside,for the presentation.

Nas Khan, managing director ofJennings Motor Group, said; “I am absolutely honoured and delighted to win sucha prestigious award from Ford Motor Company and to also welcome the Chairmanand CEO of Ford Motor Credit Company, Bernard Silverstone, to our dealership inMiddlesbrough.”

In addition to receiving acheque for The Emaan Foundation, Nas also received a commissioned watercolourcollage representing his involvement in the variety of causes he supports, acopy of which will be on display at Ford Motor Company’s World Headquarters inDearborn, Michigan, for the next two years.

Over the years, Jennings Fordhas supported the local community with generous donations and support in avariety of projects. 

For the past 16 consecutiveyears, The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Appeal has benefited by using thecompany’s network of Ford dealerships across the North East region as drop-offand collection points for gift donations. To kick-start last year’s appeal, Jennings Ford also donated £1,000 (onethousand pounds) worth of gifts, in addition to donating the use of a FordTransit van to the charity’s Southwick Community Project in Sunderland, for theduration of the Appeal.

This year will see anotherlocal charity, selected by Nas, that will not only benefit from a substantialdonation as Jennings Motor Group’s chosen charity for 2015, but also continuedsupport throughout the remainder of the year.
